For my lesson plan I would incorporate nature pictures that I have taken and have the children explore nature and all of the aspects that would help the children better understand all the different kinds of life that there is. After exploring the pictures, I would then have a field trip planned for the children to take a trip to a nature preserve and explore all the kinds of life first hand. I feel that most important experience for children is to have them explore and experience everything first hand. During the trip, I would see if the school had a digital camera, video recorder, or disposables. If nothing was available I would bring my camera and also purchase disposable cameras so that the children could take pictures of their findings. Overall, I would want the children to learn how to use a camera and also learn about nature and how wonderful it really is.

I love your idea. I definitely think it is important to have children to be able to experience things hands on! The idea of taking them on a field trip is awesome! You could even have them go home and look at the nature around their home. Then the children can compare and contrast your pictures, the pictures from the field trip and what they see at home!
Jackie we seem to agree that Nature and learning about your surroundings are very important aspects of education. Your ideas were similar to mine. One thing I thought of when reading you blog was that maybe you could grow some plants in your classroom. Give the students different seeds and have them plant them in paper cups. That way you are bringing nature into the everyday classroom!
I love this idea. Not only do you have excellent examples of nature, but you are also planning a field trip for hands on expereince. I also like that you have come up with alternative ideas just in case something does not work out. All teachers should have that because that is going to happen from time to time.
This is a really good idea. I like that you would also plan a field trip to help them learn about the trees. I agree with Emily about planting seeds in paper cups in the classroom. That is always a fun activity. They could also make a collage of all the different kinds of trees after you took the pictures on the field trip.
